The Summit Heights Youth Group is a collection of young people that enjoy learning about and serving God in many different ways. The ages of our youth group range from grades 6th-12th. We meet every Wednesday at 6:00 in the youth area, which is upstairs in the gym. All are welcome and we would really enjoy including you in our ministry.
Our goal as a youth group is to be an extension ministry of the church, committed to helping young people grow and serve God together.
Here are some of our activities/events:
Major events include Winter Blitz (late January), 30-hour famine (late February), Summer Camp at Camp Loucon (mid-summer), New Song (mid-late August), and Fall Retreat at Camp Loucon (early November).
Other activities include lock-ins, selling pumpkins at the Fall Festival, Christmas party, Bowling, Laser tag, Bats game, and a trip to Kart Country.
Some of the ways the youth group serves others: Collecting money for 30-hour famine, Serving the Wednesday night Valentines meal, stuffing and hiding the Easter eggs for the Easter Egg hunt, helping out at the JDRF walk, helping collect money with Highview Fire Department for the Crusade for Children, and Ushering during the Sunday morning worship service.
Great bible verses for youth and everyone to live by:
1 Timothy 4:12
Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.
Encourage one another daily, as long as it is called today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
