he music ministry at Summit Heights plays a dynamic and integral role in the life of our church. The ministry consists of an adult choir, adult handbells, a contemporary music band, and children’s choir. Each ensemble serves as leaders in worship by offering our gift of music ministry to the church as a sacrifice of thanksgiving to God whom we believe gave us our gifts. Below you will find a description of each ensemble and their function within the church as well as rehearsals times.
The Chancel Choir is the primary music ensemble at Summit Heights. Singing a wide variety of music styles and genres such as Traditional Hymn settings, modern compositions, and gospel music the Chancel Choir helps to lead each worship service by singing service music, leading in hymn singing, and presenting seasonal music services during Easter and Christmas. The Choir practices from August through May on Wednesday nights between 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.
The Alleluia Ringers are open to youth and adults at any level of musicianship. Practicing from August through May on Sunday nights from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. the Ringers provide a cheerful addition to worship five or six times a year.
This contemporary music ensemble helps to lead in service five or six times a year offering music influenced by popular music and singing covers of today’s contemporary Christian artists.
